Independence Day

Tomorrow is the big day. My 'rents meet Him. My mom questioned me all day about Him. I think she was quietly shocked that we have been together 9 months and just now meeting Him.

On my own time, I say.

I hope it goes well. Another big, first-time step for me and my family (I've never introduced them to other guys I've dated).

The BFF gave me a surprise this weekend - a copy of Aphrodite early. It's motivating me at the gym. Listening to it nonstop.

Move In Together

We started talking about it more and it looks like after August, after the wedding.

Not our wedding...someone else's wedding

The July 4th weekend might be the first time He meets my parents. Or rather they meet Him. I'm getting cold feet about it. I haven't seen my parents since December and I know my mom has a ton of questions. She keeps interrogating my brother about Him. I think I might need time alone with my parents so we can just talk about it and I can set up some expectations.

Or not. They have crazy ideas already I'm sure.

I also don't know if my mom has told my dad about Him yet. She likes to keep secrets.

I Can't Do This Anymore

This job I mean...

I've realized that my work has killed my passion for the work I used to love and for things outside of work, like pole and just happiness. I don't want to do anything rash, but...

I can't do this anymore.

I was thinking this morning, I'm at that age where I can stay and just let life take me away or I can take a leap and really go after what I want. I want to leave this place so I can really focus on conditioning my body for pole dancing. I don't think I can make it without putting my full focus into it.

I have money saved that will last me a while. I think i have to do this...

Today was a horrible day. I had a co-worker bad mouth me over IM, but he was typing to my IM. Caught him redhanded!

6 Months

Half a year together already. This is the longest and healthiest relationship I've ever had.

What I'm hopeful for in the next 6 months...

• I hope we're more real with each other. It's kind of disturbing that things are so peachy keen. When is it going to get ugly, so we can test our survival skills?
• More sex experiments? I was talking to a girlfriend about it being 6 months and she said, "it's around this time when it gets...dull...and you introduce new things." This scares me a bit. I'm such a control freak...
• Summertime fitness! Now that it's getting warmer I hope we'll have more time to do more outdoorsy, fitness things. Maybe convince him that I want to bike too.
• More trips together!

I feel exactly the same.

Went to SF for my birthday weekend with Him. I was a bit...I dunno. Un-enthusiastic? I wasn't sad or anything, but suddenly I didn't want to do very much. I was being wishy-washy with birthday plans. He tried His best to be my cheerleader, but every moment I was feeling self-conscious. I had a great time. I just wish I was in better spirits.

I have another birthday party planned for April Fools.

Looking to the Sky to Save Me

I know when I'm avoiding the reality of my situation when I start reaching for answers through other sources - like friends and horoscopes.

So, I'm not too thrilled at work. It's fun what I do when the conditions are right, but to be honest, I've lost all passion for it. I used to be fired up and inspired, but I'm not anymore. A younger, more obstinate me would have jumped ship by now. However, I'm a career corpse in upper management. Why leave me cushy payroll for something...unknown?

But this isn't right. And my gut tells me so. I'm looking for a sign to tell me what to do. My career horoscope:

When it comes to your career, you hold the aces. Put in the effort to make it all happen. Now is the time to explore as many possibilities as you can. It also helps if you are willing to move out of your comfort zone. It may be a good idea to rewrite your goals so that they are very detailed and outline exactly what you want in a job. You then will begin to draw the opportunities your way.
